Intervention 911 Educational and Training Opportunities

Welcome to Intervention 911’s Education and Training Site.  Intervention 911 has offered trainings for interventionists and case managers for over 15 years and has expanded their offerings.  We have created an online platform to allow those seeking education to complete a self directed curriculum tailored to specific certifications. We offer education that is approved by all three California organizations that provide certification for substance abuse counselors. We also provide trainings (an online and online/in person hybrid) to meet CE Education (150 Hours in specific domains) qualifications for the CCMI (Certified Case Manager Interventionist) or CIP (Certified Intervention Professional).  See below for links to additional information for the classes.  Intervention 911 is approved by WASC (Western Association of Schools and Colleges) and an approved education provider by NDAAC, CCAPP, CAADE, CADTP, and Breining Institute and several other state Certifying Agencies.

Interventionist and Case Management Training

Below are descriptions of the 5 Self Directed mods for the Interventionist and Case Manager Training.

Mods 1 -5 Gives students an opportunity in developing the knowledge and skills to be successful in intervention and Case Management

Mods 6-8 allows students to use the knowledge and skills in various roleplay  scenarios.

Introduction to Intervention and Case Management:

An overview of the principles and strategies on which to develop skills to successfully conduct interventions and provide the appropriate support post intervention. This Mod also features continued training on different models of intervention, clinical documentation and crisis intervention.  Education on Substance Use Disorders including diagnosis, assessment and treatment placement will begin.

Family Systems: How intervene on and Support Families, From Intervention to 1 Year

Families struggle to know what to do when faced with addiction and mental health issues.  This training will help explore family dynamics, understand family systems and learn how to create a recovery plan for the entire family.  We will also explore how to intervene on the Codependency that is central to family relapse.  Education on Substance Use Disorders including diagnosis, assessment and treatment placement. This Mod also features continued training on clinical documentation and crisis intervention. 

INTERVENTION AND CM – ETHICS, PROFESSIONALISM, AND MOTIVATIONAL INTERVIEWING.

There are many decisions that you will make every day.  Understanding best practices that are guided by a code of ethics is important to providing top-level client care.  As a provider, maintaining the utmost professionalism is so important.  This module will support you in understanding ethical considerations as an interventionist, case manager and within the treatment industry.  This Mod also features continued training on Motivational Interviewing techniques, appropriate and ethical clinical documentation and crisis intervention.  It will also highlight the importance of self-care and how a well-maintained provider will be able to provide the highest level of care for their client.  Lastly, we will address Harm Reduction and Overdose Awareness.

Cultural Awareness: Bringing Cultural Competencies to Intervention and Long-Term Recovery Support Offerings

Being culturally sensitive can be the difference between engaging a family and stopping the process of change.  Understanding and awareness are the first steps to meeting the needs of clients.

This module will also explore specific issues to specialty populations such as older adults, adolescents, LGBTQ and First Responders/Veterans.  This Mod also features continued training on Motivational Interviewing techniques, clinical documentation and crisis intervention. 

INTERVENTION and CASE MANAGEMENT FOR Mental Health and Process Addictions

Drug and Alcohol addiction is not the only issue facing the families we work with.  Many have co-occurring mental health issues or process addictions that can make intervention and case management more complex and challenging.  Learn to identify, work with and support clients who have complex presentations including diagnostic criteria, assessment and treatment placement. This mod also focuses on development and understanding of a long term case management model.
