Beth comes to the team having 20 years of involvement in the recovery community both personally and professionally. Beth has been a Credentialed Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor since 1995 and also is a New York State Licensed Mental Health Counselor. She has a BS in Psychology and Alcohol Counseling from Empire State College. Her desire to help people inspired her to return to college at the age of 27. Since graduation she has worked as a counselor.

In addition to a formal education in addiction studies, she also has struggled with many family issues due to addiction. She understands the pain of watching someone you love struggle with addiction, and has worked with families, addicts and alcoholics to help them understand the disease concept of addiction while supporting them as they move through the journey of recovery. Her firm but caring style has helped many families break through the denial of addiction. Helping people find suitable treatment for alcohol and drug addiction has been rewarding both personally and professionally. While working in detoxification centers she has honed her skills in assessment and referral. Her unique talent of bonding with the people quickly affords her the ability to meet the client where they are at in their recovery.

Along with to her involvement in the recovery community she also provides training for Hospice volunteers on the topic of children's grief. She also works with children at the Hospice Children's grieving center. She has worked with children and families for the past 10 years providing prevention education and crisis intervention in an elementary school setting and is excited to make a change to work with the intervention team.
